This month, we’re proud to celebrate a milestone that strengthens that foundation: Tracy has successfully completed The Audiology Academy’s Hearing Care Assistant (HCA) course.

The HCA qualification is a nationally recognised programme designed to complement registered clinical practice. It enhances continuity, communication and patient support — all areas where Tracy already excels — while ensuring that any extended responsibilities in future sit within a clear, safe and professional framework.
For patients, this means an even smoother experience. For our clinic, it means we’re investing in structured development that supports long‑term growth and maintains the high clinical standards people expect from us.
What the HCA course involved
The Audiology Academy’s programme covers a wide range of topics, including anatomy and physiology, otoscopy, ear‑health pathology, wax‑removal techniques, pure tone audiometry, tympanometry, impression taking, hearing aid repairs, basic fine‑tuning and communication skills. Tracy completed both the clinical competence portfolio and the competency assessment with viva — demonstrating applied understanding as well as theory.
Supporting care today, preparing for tomorrow
Tracy’s day‑to‑day role remains centred around patient support, communication and the smooth running of the clinic — areas where her warmth and organisation make a real difference. Her new qualification doesn’t change our clinical governance; instead, it gives us flexibility as we grow, ensuring that any future expansion of her responsibilities is grounded in accredited training and clear professional standards.
