Opening Audibility: A New Chapter for Motherwell

When we opened the doors to Audibility on 1 October 2024, it marked far more than the launch of a new clinic — it represented a new chapter for hearing care in Motherwell.

From an Empty Shell to a Purpose‑Built Clinic

Our unit had stood empty for two years before we took it on. What began as a bare, echoing shell quickly became a full renovation project — one that allowed us to design every detail around patient comfort and clinical excellence.

In the months leading up to opening, we transformed the space completely. The clinic now includes a calm, modern reception area, a custom‑built aural care room, a dedicated audiology test room with an integrated test booth, and new welfare facilities. Finishing the work just days before opening was a milestone in itself.

Motherwell’s First Full‑Time Audiology Clinic

Until now, Motherwell had only part‑time audiology provision through Specsavers and Hidden Hearing. Audibility became the town’s first full‑time audiology clinic — a commitment to providing consistent, accessible care throughout the week.

Marking the Moment

Our opening day was made even more special by the people who joined us to celebrate. We were honoured to welcome Clare Adamson MSP, who officially cut the ribbon, alongside Mike Hughes from Starkey and Geraldine ElMasour, Motherwell Shopping Centre Manager.

“Standing together under the balloon arch felt like the perfect symbol of partnership, community and shared purpose.”

Looking Ahead

Opening Audibility was the first step in a much bigger journey. Our goal has always been simple: to provide high‑quality, patient‑centred hearing care that feels personal, trustworthy and rooted in the community.
